We can probably expect plenty of creative boss encounters like Aoye throughout our journey. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is showing plenty of promise and fans are excited to jump back into Team Ninja’s spin on the Soulslike formula. As users pointed out, though, some UI changes could be made such as the health bar appearing on screen that blocks half the player’s body. This rhythmic dance in combat is similar to the Nioh series, only it looks far more refined here. It’s good to see Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty retain Team Ninja’s challenging gameplay while rewarding patient players who pay attention to enemies and learn their behaviour before striking. The beautiful environment also presents its own unique challenge as it’s a confined space when compared to the behemoth size of the creature. It also charges players with devastating attacks that almost decimates health bars. The massive boss has a variety of attacks that can stun the player, including swinging its long tentacles around that the player must jump over and avoid.
